Since its inception in 2010, Coastal Mountain Custom Homes has been building high-end homes and transformational remodels for the Whistler, Squamish, and Pemberton areas. Founded by Jamie Finlayson and Craig Glenday, two longtime Whistler locals, CMC Homes began small but quickly expanded into a tight-knit family with over 20 employees.
Over the years, CMC Homes has established itself as a trusted general contractor by architects, designers, and, most importantly, their clients. In everything they do, they cultivate strong relationships, thanks to their proactive, transparent, and communicative approach.

Jamie grew up on the slopes of Whistler Blackcomb and now raises his family of three here. From early on, Jamie, a former member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team, former pro rock climber, and avid mountain biker, has been driven. He graduated from UBC and began a Master’s program at Simon Fraser, but ultimately decided to follow his own path. In 2010, he co-founded CMC Homes with his former ski coach and colleague Craig Glenday. Now, 15 years later, Jamie’s track record of exceptional work, client satisfaction, and honesty speaks for itself.
Craig has been a cornerstone of Whistler’s construction industry since the 1980s, gaining decades of expertise in navigating the unique building conditions of the Sea to Sky region. Alongside his work in construction, Craig spent decades as a local ski coach, where he first met Jamie, his future business partner. The two reconnected on a construction crew and eventually founded CMC Homes. As an avid skier and windsurfer, he calls Squamish home, where the Sea to Sky corridor connects him to the mountains and ocean. Now heading up CMC Homes’ Squamish Division, Craig’s leadership continues to shape the company’s growth. Squamish also serves as a base for his family, supporting his daughter’s competitive swimming and ski racing.
Duncan’s journey in construction began early, at the age of eight, when he learned to craft furniture with his grandfather. After earning a Bachelor of Science with honours from the University of Victoria, he spent several years focused on habitat restoration before he shifted gears into large infrastructure projects, including British Properties’ Uplands and Cypress Mountain’s Sky Chair.
Eventually, his passion brought him to specialize in custom homes, and he earned a diploma in construction estimation from BCIT. In 2023, he joined CMC Homes, bringing his industry expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to sustainable building practices to every project CMC Homes takes on.
Aaryn’s immersion in construction began with her first job alongside her father, a custom home builder in Ontario. After achieving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Guelph and a business diploma from Georgian College, she was eventually drawn to Whistler to snowboard and has never left. Since the move, she has continued her professional trajectory with Canstar Restorations and is now CMC Homes’ office manager. She is the essential glue that keeps our administrative operations running smoothly.
Many on the CMC Homes team have been with us since the beginning. We’ve grown to a staff of more than 20 members and remained a close-knit family from day one. From the office to the job site, our crew’s incredible work ethic, professionalism, and skillset help us build better homes.
